This books supports many themes, but it's intended to support those interested in one of the essentials that supports our bodies: bones. You can't make up the author's name nor his credentials, but Dr. Roy A. Meals -- an orthopedic surgeon at UCLA -- takes a look and feel at the history of bones. Such a history spans over 500 million years, which in and of itself begs the insight into how something so lightweight could have stood the test of time. That's probably why the world has had so much time to make puns about them. Meals will go into how these have held symbolic meanings in culture, religion but also utilitarian purposes in these as well. Beyond the past, he'll delve into the science of his field, the medial advances and processes used to treat issues with bones, the issues themselves, and the science that supports the support. I don't know how many more simple puns a reader or a post can stand, but this book is and isn't barebones.
